Industry Awards & Credentials

Network Rail Design Competition 2021

Installed on six ScotRail trains (Class 158 & Class 170), our in-service monitoring system effectively measured track geometry, identified Driver Reported Rough Rides (DRRRs), and assessed ride quality. Results demonstrated the system’s potential to assist in adjusting speed restrictions and accurately detecting DRRRs.

Ride Monitoring – Eversholt, Northern

Our portable ride quality measurement system showcased its ability to estimate track geometry details, ride quality and accurately localising and identifying rough rides.

MxVRail – Track & Vehicle Performance Testing

MoniRail’s system, used on an American freight wagon at MxVRail’s Facility for Accelerated Service Testing (FAST), monitors track geometry and evaluates vehicle performance, contributing to advanced testing in US rail operations.

Network Rail High Speed & Eurostar Continuous Monitoring

Equipped on two Class 374 trains, our system provides high-speed track geometry data, including long wavelengths, while also offering insights into wheelset and suspension performance.

Eurotunnel – Freight and Passenger Trains

MoniRail’s system, installed on Eurotunnel freight wagons and passenger cars, supplies detailed data on track-train interaction, supporting maintenance optimisation.

Zetica – Track Geometry

In collaboration with Zetica Rail, MoniRail offers advanced track geometry measurement solutions to support infrastructure assessments.

First of a Kind Award (FOAK) 2022

In partnership with the University of Birmingham, MoniRail developed a portable track geometry solution adaptable to both onboard and trackside applications.

ICURe Award 2018

This grant supported the University of Birmingham in exploring the commercial potential of its research, laying the groundwork for MoniRail’s formation.
